Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe will testify at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing Thursday that James Comey was scheduled to attend, the panel announced Wednesday.
Comey, who was fired Tuesday by President Donald Trump, was due to testify alongside other intelligence officials for an annual assessment of global threats. The hearing will have an open session and a closed session.
Earlier on Wednesday, Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) was asked who would be testifying in Comey’s place and appeared unsure.
“Comey was terminated last night,” Burr said, speculating that it would be McCabe.
Other witnesses include Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, CIA Director Mike Pompeo and NSA Director Mike Rogers.
