President Donald Trump criticized the judiciary on Tuesday for ruling against the administration’s travel ban, writing on Twitter that the 9th Circuit "did it again.”
“Well, as predicted, the 9th Circuit did it again – Ruled against the TRAVEL BAN at such a dangerous time in the history of our country. S.C.,” he wrote online.
The 9th Circuit on Monday unanimously rejected the White House’s request to lift an injunction blocking key parts of the Trump’s revised executive order. In May, the Virginia-based 4th Circuit also rejected Trump’s revised travel ban executive order.
The Supreme Court is considering taking up the travel ban case.
Trump has attacked the judiciary and the 9th Circuit in particular in the past. In April, Trump blasted the 9th circuit for both ruling against the travel ban and for blocking an executive order allowing federal funds to be withheld from localities that do not turn over undocumented immigrants to federal immigration officers. A U.S. District Judge, not the 9th Circuit, blocked Trump’s sanctuary city action.
