For the second time on Monday, President Donald Trump attacked The New York Times as "failing."
In a tweet, Trump questioned the financial health of the newspaper and alleged that it has "big losses and massive unfunded liability," despite the fact that the company recently reported a surge in subscriptions and some revenue growth.
"How much longer will the failing nytimes, with its big losses and massive unfunded liability (and non-existent sources), remain in business?" Trump tweeted on Monday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, also on Twitter, he had described the newspaper as "totally inept" and falsely said it had apologized for its coverage of the election last year.
