President Donald Trump has a clean-ish bill of health.

Whatever else is going on this week — escalating fears of a government shutdown, more disputes about whether Trump used a vulgarity, rumblings about Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation — a White House physician said Trump’s health checks out just fine, POLITICO’s Cristiano Lima reports.

“All clinical data indicates that the president is currently very healthy and that he will remain so for the duration of his presidency,” Dr. Ronny Jackson said at the daily White House news briefing during a nearly hour-long question-and-answer period with reporters.

“He has incredibly good genes, and it’s just the way God made him,” Jackson said, noting that Trump who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 239 pounds expressed a desire to lose “10 to 15 pounds” and also has no defined exercise routine.

Less healthy, it seemed, was the state of various negotiations Trump is involved in.

Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary, Kristjen Nielsen, said she didn’t hear Trump utter the word “shithole” during a meeting on immigration last week — even as others who were there refused to back down. The back and forth colored a debate that could determine whether Congress can reach a deal to keep the government running.

“Congressional Democrats face a critical decision this week as negotiations to shield 700,000 young undocumented immigrants from deportation stall: Are they willing to shut the government down to protect Dreamers?,” POLITICO’s Heather Caygle, Rachael Bade and Seung Min Kim report. “Government funding runs out on Friday.”

Elsewhere in President Trump’s orbit:

2020 VISION: President Trump is at least partly consumed with gaming out his potential opponents for reelection in 2020, viewing none of the possible Democrats as particularly viable challengers.

LOOK AT THE HOLE PICTURE: White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the focus should be on immigration policy — not potential language used.

NO BANNON ON TALKING: Former White House senior strategist Steve Bannon refused to talk to a Hill panel about his time in the White House — prompting an immediate subpoena from the House Intelligence Committee.

SPECIAL DATE: The New York Times reports that Bannon has been subpoenaed to testify to a federal grand jury in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

SUPREME HOPE: The Department of Justice has appealed to the Supreme Court in the hopes of keeping President Trump’s executive order dismantling and setting a deadline on DACA in place.

NOT STORM CHASERS?: CNN reports that Fox News had reporting on alleged relationship between President Trump and adult film actress Stormy Daniels before Election Day, but chose to shelve it.

There you have it. You’re caught up on the Trump administration. That’s Tuesday in the reareview.
